Sola Olamikan, MD, MBA

Dr. Sola Olamikan has over 10 years of medical experience in both anesthesiology and multidisciplinary pain medicine, including several years practicing with the pediatric population. He is triple-board certified in anesthesiology, pediatric anesthesiology and pain medicine.

Dr. Olamikan is an alumnus of prestigious training programs. After obtaining a medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, Dr. Olamikan completed his internship in Family Medicine at the University of Texas, also in Houston, Texas. His residency took place at the State University of New York, followed by his first fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology at the University of Colorado in Denver. He began his next fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque and completed it at the University of Washington, Seattle. During this period, he had an opportunity to visit Alaska and decided it was an excellent place to live. He also earned a MBA in Healthcare Management and Leadership.

Dr. Olamikan is an accomplished educator. He was an associate professor at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School and Children’s Health Medical Center in Dallas where he was a Pediatric Anesthesiologist and a Pediatric Pain Specialist. He also served adult populations while stationed in Seattle, Washington.

A strong advocate for the advancement of physical and mental pain management, Dr. Olamikan strives to incorporate multimodal and multidisciplinary approaches (including, but not limited to medications, patient teaching and empowerment, regenerative medicine and alternative medicine) in achieving the optimal outcome for patients and clients tailored to their specific needs.

Ivy Weakland, PA-C

Ivy is a compassionate and highly skilled team member who comes with seven years of experience as a Physician Assistant in the Anchorage Community. She has worked in primary care, women’s health and bariatrics. She has experience in both the surgical and clinical setting. She is excited to be a part of the APCA team where she brings dedication and commitment to improving our patient’s quality of life through pain management. She understands how chronic pain can impact many aspects of daily life and seeks to help patients regain control and the confidence to enjoy the many activities that Alaska has to offer.
Ivy’s medical education began in 2004, while attending Oregon Institute of Technology. She graduated with honors and earned a Bachelor’s of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She relocated to Alaska in 2007 to complete a one-year externship at Providence Alaska Medical Center. She practiced as a Registered Sonographer in both the clinical and hospital setting for 8 years gaining skills in general, musculoskeletal, vascular, breast and ob-gyn sonography. Ivy then decided to further her education and pursue a career as a Physician Assistant. She was accepted into the University of Washington’s MEDEX Physician Assistant program in 2014, graduating with a Bachelor of Clinical Health Sciences in 2016. She is active in the AKAPA association and has served as a medical preceptor for PA students in the Anchorage Community.
In Ivy’s free time she enjoys being outdoors with her family; running with her dog, hiking, camping and gardening. She has a passion for sports and continues to play adult league soccer and softball. She volunteers as a youth basketball, soccer and baseball coach.
